Overview #
The Settings screen is where Huski Events connects its main supporting services. This includes update access, pay by check instructions, Stripe API settings, webhook information, and shortcode reference.
If checkout, payment, or update behavior seems disconnected, this is a good place to check first.
Where to Find It #
Go to Huski Events > Settings.
What You Can Configure #
- License key: Used for private plugin updates.
- Pay by check instructions: Instructions shown when attendees choose check payment.
- Stripe keys: API keys used for test and live online payments.
- Webhook settings: Stripe webhook endpoint and signing secret information.
- Shortcodes: Reference for cart, list, grid, and speakers shortcodes.
How to Configure Settings #
- Open Huski Events > Settings.
- Add the license key if available.
- Add pay by check instructions if check payments are allowed.
- Add Stripe test keys if online payments are needed.
- Set up the Stripe webhook endpoint and secret.
- Review the shortcode reference.
- Save changes.
License Key Notes #
The license key is used for private plugin updates. It is not the same as a Stripe key, WordPress password, or attendee password. Store it safely and do not publish it publicly.
Best Practices #
- Configure settings before publishing paid events.
- Test Stripe in test mode first.
- Write clear check payment instructions.
- Keep shortcode pages published.
- Confirm the license key after moving a site.
Troubleshooting #
- You see an update warning: Add or confirm the license key.
- Check payment instructions do not show: Save instructions and confirm the event allows pay by check.
- Stripe checkout fails: Check Stripe keys and webhook setup.
- A shortcode page does not work: Confirm the shortcode is typed correctly and the plugin is active.
That’s it, dawg!
