Overview #
Huski Members now includes a clearer member deletion workflow. This matters because a directory member may also be a WordPress user account. Sometimes you only want to remove the person from the directory. Other times, you may want to remove the WordPress user too.
The delete screen is designed to help administrators make that choice intentionally.
Where to Find It #
Go to Huski Members > Members, then use the delete action for the member you want to remove.
Deletion Options #
- Delete member only: Removes the Huski Members directory relationship and member data while leaving the WordPress user account in place.
- Delete member and user: Removes the directory member and the connected WordPress user account.
When to Delete Member Only #
Use this when the person should no longer appear in the directory but still needs a WordPress account for another purpose.
When to Delete Member and User #
Use this only when the WordPress user account is no longer needed. This is a bigger action, so review carefully before choosing it.
Best Practices #
- Double-check the member before deleting.
- Use member-only deletion when you are not sure whether the WordPress user is still needed.
- Export or back up data before large cleanup work.
- Be extra careful with users who may own content or orders elsewhere on the site.
Troubleshooting #
- A deleted member still appears publicly: Clear cache and confirm the member relationship was removed.
- You deleted the wrong record: Restore from backup if needed.
- You are unsure which option to choose: Choose member-only deletion first when preserving the WordPress user matters.
That’s it, dawg!
