Overview #
Huski Send gives you two main ways to choose recipients: specific users or user roles. If you are sending to individual people, you can search and filter the user list before selecting them. If you are sending to a group, you can choose one or more WordPress roles.
Duplicates are removed automatically, so if the same email address is reached more than once, Huski Send only keeps one copy in the final recipient list.
Where to Find It #
Open Send Message. The first step is Select Recipients.
Recipient Modes #
Specific Users #
Use this when you want to hand-pick individual users. The screen shows user names and email addresses, and you can search or filter the list to find the right people.
User Role(s) #
Use this when you want to send to everyone in one or more WordPress roles. For example, you might send to all Subscribers, Customers, Members, or another role on your site.
Filtering Specific Users #
When using Specific Users mode, you can narrow the user list before selecting people.
- Search: Search by name or email address.
- Role filter: Show users who belong to selected roles.
- Meta filter: Show users who have a value for the configured user meta key.
- Select all filtered: Select everyone currently visible after filtering.
How Meta Filtering Works #
The meta filter uses the meta key configured under Send Message > Settings. For example, the default is user_district, but you could use a different key such as department or region.
Users with an empty value for that meta key are hidden when Meta filter mode is used.
How to Choose Recipients #
- Open Send Message.
- Choose Specific users or User role(s).
- If using Specific users, search or filter the list.
- Select the users you want, or use Select all filtered.
- If using roles, select one or more roles.
- Click Next.
Best Practices #
- Use role sending carefully because it may send to a large group.
- Use filters before selecting all users.
- Double-check the Review step before sending.
- Keep your user meta values clean if you rely on meta filtering.
Troubleshooting #
- No users show in meta filter mode: Check the configured meta key and make sure users have values for it.
- A role has no recipients: Confirm users actually belong to that role.
- Select all picked too many users: Narrow the filter first, then select all filtered.
- A duplicate user was selected: Huski Send removes duplicate email addresses before sending.
