Overview #
Huski Members now includes a dedicated Plans area. Plans are the new home for managing member levels. Instead of only thinking in terms of Free or Premium, you can create plan records with labels, directory visibility, billing settings, plan length, and Stripe product or price information.
In plain English, a plan answers: “What level is this member on, should they show in the directory, and does this plan connect to billing?”
Where to Find It #
Go to Huski Members > Plans.
What You Can Manage #
- Plan key: The internal name for the plan.
- Plan name: The friendly name administrators see.
- Show in directory: Whether members on the plan should be eligible for public directory display.
- Paid plan: Whether this plan is treated as a paid billing plan.
- Billing interval: The recurring billing schedule when Stripe billing is used.
- Plan length: How long the plan should last when it has a set duration.
- Stripe product and price IDs: The Stripe records connected to the plan.
How to Add or Edit a Plan #
- Open Huski Members > Plans.
- Click Add New Plan or edit an existing plan.
- Enter the plan key and plan name.
- Choose whether members on the plan should show in the directory.
- Choose whether the plan is paid.
- Configure billing fields if Stripe payments are enabled.
- Save the plan.
Important Notes #
Plan keys are used internally by registration, imports, and member plan storage. Be careful when changing them after members already exist.
If a plan has assigned members, deleting it may require choosing a replacement plan first. This helps prevent members from being left without a plan.
Best Practices #
- Decide your plan structure before importing or approving many members.
- Keep plan names simple and customer-friendly.
- Do not rename plan keys casually after launch.
- Use directory visibility intentionally so hidden plans do not accidentally appear publicly.
- Test paid plans in Stripe test mode before going live.
Troubleshooting #
- A member has the wrong plan: Edit the member and choose the correct Member Plan.
- A plan cannot be deleted: Check whether members are still assigned to it and choose a replacement plan if required.
- Stripe fields are missing: Make sure the Stripe payments module is enabled in Settings.
- Plan changes do not show publicly: Check directory visibility, member approval, and site cache.
That’s it, dawg!
